2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account Information: Mobile phone number, name, and profile photo (optional).
• Location Data: Precise GPS location during trip booking and active trips. Background location is used only when a trip is in progress.
• Trip Data: Pickup and drop-off addresses, trip route, fare, and trip duration.
• Payment Data: Payment method type and transaction references. We do not store full card details; payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant gateways.
• Device & Usage Data: Device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and in-app activity for performance monitoring.
• Communications: Support chat messages, complaint details, and feedback submitted to us.
• Driver Partner Data: In addition to the above — driving licence, vehicle RC, insurance documents, selfies, and duty photos for verification.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide, personalise, and improve the Tirriwala platform
• Match you with available driver partners
• Process payments and issue receipts
• Send trip updates, OTPs, and service notifications via SMS and push notifications
• Resolve disputes, investigate fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service
• Comply with legal obligations under applicable Indian laws
• Conduct safety monitoring and background checks for driver partners
• Analyse aggregate trends to improve our services

4. Location Data

Location access is essential to our core service. Specifically:

• Customers: We access your location when you open the app to show nearby drivers and when a trip is active for live tracking.
• Driver Partners: We continuously track location during active duty to match with customers and provide ETA.
• Location data is never sold to third parties for advertising purposes.
• You can revoke location permissions at any time from your device settings, though this will prevent booking rides.

5. Sharing Your Information

We share your data only as necessary:

• Driver Partners: Your first name and pickup location are shared with the assigned driver to complete your trip.
• Other Customers: Driver partners share their name, photo, vehicle details, and location with the customer during a trip.
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party providers for SMS (OTP), cloud storage, analytics, and payment processing. All are bound by data processing agreements.
• Law Enforcement: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a period thereafter as required by law:

• Trip records are retained for a minimum of 3 years for regulatory compliance.
• Account data is deleted within 90 days of a verified account deletion request.
• Driver documents are retained for 5 years following the end of the driver partnership.
• Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Our mobile app does not use browser cookies. However, we use:

• Analytics SDKs: To understand app usage patterns and crash reports.
• Firebase / Push Services: To deliver timely push notifications.

Our website may use cookies for session management and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
• Sensitive data at rest is encrypted.
• Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
• We conduct periodic security reviews and vulnerability assessments.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via SMS/email. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
